Encounter with Utah Lace Opal

Encounter with Utah Lace Opal

Grand Junction, Colorado. Along the road that runs from this relatively low-snow area, over the Grand Mesa and down to Delta, there was a little mineral shop.
ASPEN ROCK AND GEM――I still remember the name of that shop clearly.

When I stepped into the shop, beautifully polished stones I had never seen before were quietly displayed. Further inside, several of those stones’ roughs (raw specimens) were set out, and I couldn’t help reaching out.

At that moment, something like static ran through me, and after a while when I gently lifted one up… a strange sensation welled up, like politely greeting someone I was meeting for the first time. I was wrapped in such a gentle vibration that I even found myself bowing lightly, feeling welcomed.

A single word, as if saying “Welcome,” resonated inside my heart.

In Colorado, Utah, and Arizona, I visited every rock shop in the American Southwest, and sometimes even went to mines while continuing my search.
And finally, I found the stone I had been looking for――Utah Lace Opal.

Dialogue with the Utah Lace Opal

At the time we met, I was having trouble grounding and kept feeling like I didn’t have my feet on the ground. When something went wrong, I would literally become unsettled and on edge.

Perhaps that’s why I was drawn to this stone. My intuition told me it would surely help support grounding.

Surprisingly, this Utah Lace Opal is said to be a “young stone”—it’s only been on Earth for about 300 years. Even so, it’s a mysterious stone that conveys a strong presence and a gentle nature.

I cleansed this stone in Oak Creek, the sacred river that flows through Sedona――through that Buddha Beach.
That spot is one of the few private areas.
It may well be the first time a Utah Lace Opal purified there has been brought to Japan.

Feeling the stone’s energy

After cleansing the Utah Lace Opal, I quietly entered meditation with it.

What I felt was,

  • A youthful yet firmly centered gentleness

  • A calm that gently quiets an overexcited heart

  • A deep sense of grounding, as if rooting firmly into the earth

It was an energy of reassurance, like a gentle hand supporting my back.

Is the Utah Lace Opal a power stone?

To gain certainty about this stone, I also consulted someone who can channel.

By the way, Simon, the founder of the well-known Heaven and Earth, didn’t have the ability to channel from the start either. There’s even an anecdote that one day the power suddenly awakened.
